Clean vehicle buyers in Sweden can get all the information they need about clean cars and fuelling from one website. The clean vehicle website www.miljofordon.se was launched with co-financing from Trendsetter.
Support for buyers of clean vehicles helps speed market growth. Access to information on prices, performance and options allows drivers to calculate and meet their own needs economically. Tools enabling comparisons with comparable fossil-fuel vehicles play an important role in communicating the benefits of low-emission cars.
From the start in May 2004, the number of visitors to the website has increased steadily and it has in the end of 2005 more than 25,000 unique visitors/month.
The website has clearly contributed to the promotion of clean vehicles in the cities.
Some examples of the content on www.miljofordon.se:
Vehicle models with prices and performance specifications.
Maps showing refuelling stations with addresses and current fuel prices.
Tools enabling individual economy calculations and comparisons with corresponding fossil-fuelled models.
Calculations of environmental benefits from clean vehicles.
National and international legislation on clean vehicles including taxes, subsidies and benefits.
According to a survey of almost 400 users, the website is regarded as reliable, neutral and contains all relevant facts on clean vehicles. The website reaches potential buyers of clean vehicles and can be seen as an important tool to influence them to buy a clean vehicle.
The national website was developed cooperatively by the Cities of Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö, and was co-financed by Trendsetter and our Civitas sister project Tellus.
