Now it's easier for Swedes to choose a clean vehicle

Sweden's first comprehensive Internet portal for clean vehicles and alternative fuels is now on-line. Covering everything a prospective buyer needs to know about lowemission vehicles, the national portal has been created jointly by clean car projects in Stockholm, Göteborg and Malmö.

The portal www.miljofordon.se presents all the clean vehicles on the Swedish market. Filling stations offering alternative fuels in Sweden are presented in a map that is searchable across the country down to street level, and includes addresses and fuel prices.

A calculator for light vehicles allows private individuals, businesses and public authorities to compare their own costs for operation of clean vehicles with comparable conventional models. Calculations for company cars show costs for
both driver and employer.

A news section lists upcoming events, new models, filling stations and taxation rules as easily accessible short items. A practical info section reveals which vehicles produce the least emissions, how future technology is developing, and topics such as how to inspect a gas-powered vehicle, how to service an ethanol car, and much more.

The clean car portal is operated jointly by the clean vehicle projects in Stockholm, Göteborg and Malmö, and is a further development of the earlier web service www.miljofordon.org, managed since 1998 by Clean Vehicles in Göteborg. The project is partly financed by the European Civitas projects Trendsetter and Tellus. The aim of the site is to simplify the process of choosing the right model of environmentally friendly vehicle, finding a fuelling station and comparing costs.
