Stockholm Transport, SL, is the Public Transport Authority of the Stockholm region. Today, 15 % (about 250 vehicles) of the buses in SL's service are driven by ethanol. The long-term vision is that the entire bus fleet should be running on renewable fuels by 2021. In 2003 SL will start using biogas buses. The biogas will be produced from sewage sludge.
   
SL also participates in the project CUTE (Clean Urban Transport for Europe), with the goal of testing fuel cell buses in Stockholm. The first fuel cell buses in Stockholm will arrive end of 2003.
   
All electricity for the Stockholm underground, the Light rail, the Roslagen, Saltsjö and Lidingö suburban railways and the Nockeby Light rail comes from renewable sources.

The SNRA is the national authority assigned the overall responsibility for the entire swedish state road transport system. This involves representing the State at a national level in issues relating to the environmental impact of the road transport system, road traffic safety, accessibility, level of service, efficiency and contributions to regional balance, as well as in issues relating to intelligent transport systems, vehicles, public transport, modifications for the disabled, commercial traffic in addition to applied research, development and demonstration activities within the road transport system.
   
The Swedish National Road Administration is responsible for the environmental impact of its own activities as well as of the entire state road transport system. The road transport system shall be developed in a way that does not jeopardise the environment or public health and welfare either now or in the future.

The Real Estate and Traffic Administration is responsible for land and property owned by the city of Stockholm: parks, nature areas and real estate.
Road maintenence and traffic surveillance are also part of their responsibility as carrying out the City´s traffic policy.
The administration provide service to residents as well as industy and commerce and strives to develop Stockholm in a way that makes it attractive to live and work in - now and in the future.
The ambition is to increase the awarness of the environment in all activities.

Public Transport Company of Graz, Austria

The Public Transport Company of Graz (GVB) is the largest provider of public transport services in Graz. The fleet includes 69 trams and 134 buses. Several buses operate on eco-diesel made of recycled edible oil, two buses operate on CNG. Presently the GVB employs 412 drivers. The GVB will convert the entire bus vehicle fleet to bio-diesel operation. They also have an important role in the collection of edible oil as fuel for bio-diesel busses.

The taxi group 878 is the largest radio taxi group in Graz and has a taxi fleet of 236 vehicles and employs 1020 drivers. The taxi group 878 had the first E-taxi in Graz and is since 30 years working with taxis. Taxi group 878 has big experiences with innovative projects (electro-taxi, GIS etc) and will convert 60% of its vehicles to bio-diesel operation and establish a special service station for bio-diesel vehicles during Trendsetter.

Styrian Transport Association STVG Ltd., Austria

The Styrian Transport Association (STVG) co-ordinates the regional transport association with 48 transport companies with more than 400 lines. 2,155 villages/towns/cities with more than 6,700 stops can be reached via the 10,000 km line network. 4500 employees in the transport companies offer the 1.2 Mio Styrian citizens the opportunity of travelling in the whole of Styria. Special activities are the harmonised marketing and the public relations work.

The division 18 b in Province of Styria is responsible for the traffic planning, public transport and the Styrian wide traffic management programme.
